My name is Jim Corps and I am the owner of Home Safe Home. I want to help you protect your health by ensuring you have the cleanest water and purest air possible. I want to make sure that your home is healthy.

Hardly a day goes by now when we do not find a news article about problems with the water we drink or the air we breathe; as I’m writing this there are 240 boil water orders in effect in Canada, many being the result of E. Coliform bacterial contamination (one of the culprits in the Walkerton tragedy in 2000). Yes, our government tries to protect us with these warnings; unfortunately by the time the warnings are broadcast it is too late and many people have already become ill.

The Water We Drink

Only 42% of the population in Canada is protected by municipal water systems treating the water with chlorine (which has its own set of problems), however chlorine has no effect on Cryptosporidium and other disease-causing parasites and bacteria. In fact the chlorination of water can even create carcinogenic trihalomethanes (THMs)!

The Air We Breathe

And then there are the indoor air pollution problems. Asbestos, dust mites (Dermatophagoides farinae) and their droppings, mold spores, pollen, pet dander, cleaning products, tobacco smoke (which contains more than 4,000 chemicals including 50 which are carcinogenic), carbon monoxide, formaldehyde fumes, nitrogen dioxide, out-gassing from carpet, drapes and plastics, and many other allergens and irritants. All of these are floating about your home and poisoning the air you breathe.
